The Internet is a powerful learning tool.
It can also lead to inappropriate classroom activities if not
carefully monitored. The faculty and administration at Ashford
School take a serious approach to this risk. The following safe
guards are in place:
All student computers have security software
which allows students access only to their own files and select
applications. Students access these approved areas with individual
login names and passwords.
A teacher must be present at all times
when a student is on the Internet.
Students are not allowed to participate
in chat rooms or to "surf the net." They are only
allowed access for specific school assignments.
Internet filtering software has been
installed on our network. Effective August of 2000 all internet
access will be directed through this software.
Every student must have an Acceptable
Use Policy signed by a parent and returned to school each year.
